In the words of Benjamin Franklin– ‘Tell me and I will forget. Teach me, and I will remember. Involve me and I will learn’ and this thought definitely resonates in the corridors of our school.
Students of PYP 4P were engaged in gaining hands-on experience. Investigating deeper into their current inquiry in the unit on energy, students visited the design studio.
They tuned into the transformation of energy, through various real-life examples such as – chemical energy from batteries being transformed into sound and light energy in a circuit. They also learnt about electrical energy transforming into sound energy. Students created a circuit, showcasing the transformation of electrical energy into sound energy using the ‘Makey-Makey’ tool. It is rightly said – becoming an effective learner requires more than knowing how to do something. It requires theoretical knowledge along with practical hands-on experience.
