/The Sound of Silence

The Sound of Silence

Is it the sound of two people ignoring each other?

Or is it the sound of our hearts beating for one another?

Is the sound of no one bothering to care?

Or is the sound of a bird’s soft wings in the air?

Is it the sound of being completely alone?

Or is it the sound of flowers by the wind, blown?

Is it the sound of trying not to cry?

Or is it the sound of a peaceful goodbye?

Is it the sound of being left behind?

Or is it the sound of calming thoughts filling our mind?

Is it the sound of wishing you could die?

Or the sound of pursuing on with life?

Can silence really be heard?

If yes then how does it really sound?

Is it as soft as the fluttering of the swift wings of a bird?

Or is it as loud as the rumbling of the ground?

Silence has a voice for those who listen

Allowing emotions and thoughts to echo,

Allowing unspoken thoughts and unfelt feelings to christen

The sound of silence may seem unreal,

But it is truly something you feel.
