This year the students of PYP 4 decided to celebrate the 4th International Day of Education. Since its inception in 2018, this day is being celebrated anywhere in the world, where learning can take place. This includes schools, our communities, our homes, and even online. It is important for our students to understand, that learning takes place in a variety of forms, therefore can happen anywhere. This year’s theme ‘Changing Course, Transforming Education’ coincided with and complimented our year-long unit under the transdisciplinary theme ‘Sharing the planet’.
The students tuned into the second line of inquiry, ‘Role of education in combatting challenges’, by understanding and celebrating the essence of marking the International Day of Education. They achieved another global connection when they shared their views on the Padlet link on how they think, they can contribute in their own way, in the attainment of the SDG 4: Quality Education. They progressed with the idea of spreading awareness amongst their community by writing slogans in support of the above mentioned, global goal.
