Culture Fest

In the words of Marcus Garvey, “People without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.”

To celebrate the uniqueness of our cultural diversity, as a part of the inquiry into societies and culture under the Transdisciplinary theme, Where We Are in Place and Time, PYP 5 participated in the “Cultural Fest” to showcase key aspects of their unique culture to their peers. Students shared the dance, clothing, food items, traditions, language, religious beliefs etc. that make them who they are.

Citing the importance that these values and beliefs hold in their lives, the students demonstrated the attributes of enthusiasm and creativity. The students celebrated their differences and uniqueness by accepting and embracing each other with the traits and values they possess.

This extravaganza helped them understand how history and culture have laid the rock solid foundation for their current and future society.
